For ten years we thought long and hard about it.
And while we’re yet to boast a bombastic, mushy philosophy, we do have a few stories to share. We figure they’re more fun anyway.
After working on accounts like Esso and Duracell, new mkm partners Andy and Margaret were confident that their first client – Doug, a struggling owner of a small mechanic shop – would be a snap.
You guessed it...this challenge proved to be one of the toughest of all. While Doug’s situation wasn’t exactly new, his tight budget forced mkm to pare down to the essentials. And this is exactly where mkm learned to excel – able to peel back the layers, pinpoint the problem and develop an unbeatable understanding of simple to complex marketing basics.
Basics you say? It might not sound overly impressive, but we’ve seen far too many people skip over them to go straight to the creative good stuff...only to create an elaborate, expensive solution that doesn’t solve a thing. Think about it – big accounts throw big dollars, and feeding almost anything unlimited cash will create something. But will that something become a true, strategic step that will garner results? We rarely take that chance.
Whether they’re big or small, flourishing or fledgling, we’ve learned that all clients want one thing: results. We achieve them because we understand the business inside and out, and while we like to think we’re clever, it mostly comes down to simple hard work. It might mean taking smart over slick. It always means stopping to really think a problem through.
At mkm, every client’s problem is unique. It deserves a ton of attention – including full analysis, evaluation and a thought-through, strategic solution with solid creative delivery.
It’s probably why Doug is now a busy guy running two shops.
Although we have other stories we’d love to share with you, we’ll save them for later. You know how we like to cover the basics first.
Plus, we hate getting mushy.
mkm. think.
